Thin bridges in isotropic electrostatics
نویسنده
چکیده
Fast hierarchical methods for potential eld evaluations have in recent years found interesting applications in computational physics and engineering. For example, these methods have been used in combination with integral equation methods for solving the electrostatic and elastostatic equations for materials with inclusions. A lingering obstacle on the way to constructing a general purpose algorithm for inclusion problems is the treatment of inclusion interfaces that lie very close to each other. The diiculty is to assess the need for resolution and to evaluate layer potentials close to their sources in a fast and accurate fashion. This paper presents an automated algorithm for such an assessment and evaluation. The robustness and speed of the algorithm is demonstrated through a series of examples involving thin bridges, coatings, narrow necks, corners, cusps, and random mixtures.

Finding Electrostatics modes in Metal Thin Films by using of Quantum Hydrodynamic Model
In this paper, by using a quantum hydrodynamic plasma model which incorporates the important quantum statistical pressure and electron diffraction force, we present the corrected plasmon dispersion relation for graphene which includes a k quantum term arising from the collective electron density wave interference effects (which is integer and constant and k is wave vector). The longitudinal ...
متن کاملEffect of Thermal Environment on Vibration Analysis of Partially Cracked Thin Isotropic Plate Submerged in Fluid
Based on a non classical plate theory, an analytical model is proposed for the first time to analyze free vibration problem of partially cracked thin isotropic submerged plate in the presence of thermal environment. The governing equation for the cracked plate is derived using the Kirchhoff’s thin plate theory and the modified couple stress theory. The crack terms are formulated using simplifie...

Thin-walled hollow steel columns, either circular or box shaped, are commonly used as piers in bridges. Recent earthquakes, e.g. Hyogoken-Nanbu or Kobe 1995, on the other hand have shown that these columns are vulnerable to damage when subjected to earthquake loading. This paper presents a new innovative thin-walled hollow steel column fabricated of corrugated plates, “thin-walled steel columns...
متن کاملElectrostatics on the sphere with applications to Monte Carlo simulations of two dimensional polar fluids.
We present two methods for solving the electrostatics of point charges and multipoles on the surface of a sphere, i.e., in the space S2, with applications to numerical simulations of two-dimensional (2D) polar fluids. In the first approach, point charges are associated with uniform neutralizing backgrounds to form neutral pseudo-charges, while in the second, one instead considers bi-charges, i....

In this article, bulk and thin film samples of strontium ferrite have been studied. Due to the high electrical resistivity in strontium ferrite, energy loss due to eddy currents reduces and because of this, it can be used in high frequency magnetic circuits. On the other hand, strontium ferrite has attracted much attention as a permanent magnet. At first, we study the preparation process of b...
